Slate

Most of the slate I carve has been quarried from New York and Vermont. I also carve salvaged roofing slate, most of which has weathered over 100 years on Vermont roofs before it was reclaimed.

Securely fastened for hanging:

All work is securely fastened on the back with wooden frames wired to hang on picture hangers.

Suitable for hanging outdoors:

These carvings can be hung outside and are ideal for porches or even on the exterior of houses. To protect the carvings, an impregnating sealer can be applied which is water repellent and prevents staining.
